More than 300 students subscribed, 20 lucky candidates were carefully chosen, 5 graduates won and one became a Semetissian.
At Semetis we strongly believe in winning the talent war will depend more on a company's culture than its pockets. Semetis enlists visionary and critical thinkers who believe in its core values. Growth is one of them. It is also a promise that Semetis makes towards its Semetissians. “Since the very beginning, we have only been promoted from within and have never hired externally. Our recruitment strategy is to employ young graduates only. Qualified candidates are young graduates with a Master’s Degree in Business Economics or Business Engineering. A profile that is very much in demand by large consulting firms such as Deloitte, Accenture, EY, and McKinsey.” says Jennifer Hubert, Operations Director of Semetis. Semetis needed to update itself to be better placed to hire young graduates.
Semetis Game is about beating the war for talent with a company culture. And so Semetis sent out its Profilers to 3 student job fairs in Ghent, Brussels and Antwerp and 11 guest lectures at Universities across the country (VUB, ULB, KULeuven, UGent, UAntwerpen, UCLouvain, ULiege, UHasselt). The approach did not leave students unmoved. More than 300 students signed up for the game after three months of campaigning. Twenty lucky young graduates were carefully chosen to play the game. Five students passed the mysterious assessment test. But only one won a contract to become a Semetissian and her name is Lynn Luyckx. “Lynn has the intellectual curiosity we are looking for at Semetis. She stood out in Semetis Game because of her problem solving skills, her brief and bright answers and her curiosity to drive forward.” explains Jennifer Hubert. Lynn will join the Semetissians on the 4th of July.
Great things in business are never done alone. Semetis teamed up with Veaudeville, a creative marketing agency located in Gooik, for the strategy, concept creation and execution of the campaign. Dhan Claes, Managing Director at Semetis, adds “Veaudeville’s tag line is The Genius Marketing Circus, and they absolutely lived up to their promise.
