Onboarding and my first month
My journey at Semetis began with an onboarding day, I received a welcome pack and my laptop. I met my team of six members and learned more about the company and its operations. My first month at Semetis was a theoretical learning phase (one month), during which I studied and earned a few Google certifications. This period was also a time of collaborative learning. One after another, the members of Semetis guided me through shadowing opportunities, provided hands-on training, and shared their expertise.
Throughout this adaptation period, I was guided by my buddy, who was always available to answer questions and offer guidance. By the end of the month, I was already onboarding my first two pro bono clients.
From theory to practice
Starting from the second month, my training shifted from theory to practical application. With the support of my colleagues through shadows and bootcamps, I learned to apply strategies and tools to real projects. This hands-on phase enabled me to begin contributing to client campaigns with increasing autonomy. Over the course of my internship, I worked on six distinct projects, including two pro bono organizations. These experiences exposed me to a variety of challenges, allowing me to grow both professionally and personally.
Routine and typical day
As the weeks progressed, I developed a structured routine that helped me stay efficient and organized. Each morning began with a review and optimization of my ongoing campaigns fondly referred to as our "morning coffee".
Each week, I attend my team's weekly meeting, where we review the previous week’s progress and updates. Once a month, we also enjoy a team lunch together, fostering a friendly and collaborative atmosphere. In addition, I participate in the monthly meeting of the entire Semetis team as well as the monthly meeting for analysts. These sessions are key opportunities to align on objectives and share best practices within the company.
By the midpoint of my internship, I was taking on more significant responsibilities. I engaged directly with clients, created and optimized platform set-ups for Google and Meta, and contributed to campaign reports. Toward the end of my internship, I even presented campaign results to pro bono clients during bi-monthly meetings.
My pro-bono journey
Pro-bono projects with Fairtrade and Youthstart proved impactful, helping me sharpen my skills, develop technical expertise, and contribute to meaningful causes.
With Fairtrade, I managed two campaigns: a one-month event-focused campaign promoting the “Commune du Commerce Équitable” initiative, and an always-on campaign aimed at raising awareness of fair trade values year-round. My responsibilities included campaign set-ups, budget management, reporting, and client presentations, ensuring alignment with Fairtrade’s mission and goals.
For Youthstart, I restructured their Google Ads account to improve performance and usability. This involved conducting an audit, designing a new structure, optimizing keywords and extensions, and presenting creative best practices. These tasks deepened my understanding of account strategy and client communication.

Looking back, interning at Semetis was not just an opportunity to gain technical skills but also to work in an inspiring and supportive environment. The diverse and dynamic projects helped me build a solid foundation in digital marketing, while the collaborative atmosphere encouraged personal and professional growth.
Beyond the work itself, the human dimension of this internship made it truly unforgettable. I participated in workshops, team-building activities, and events such as Semetis’ 15-year anniversary celebration and the Christmas dinner. These moments fostered a strong sense of belonging and added a rewarding personal touch to my experience.
